So much to see and learn at this year’s upcoming Esperance Agricultural Show

The much loved Esperance Agricultural Show is coming up in October.

The Esperance and Districts Agricultural Society have 35 Sections set out for competition for Indoor Exhibits in the Graham MacKenzie Stadium.

Flowers, Floral Art, Pot Plants, Wildflowers, Homebrew, Woodwork, Fruit Vegetables, Jams, Sauces & Pickles as well as many other sections.

Thinking of entering? Check out the Show Schedule containing the many sections & classes. Recent rains followed by days of sunshine have boosted crop growth and healthy pastures in recent weeks and the Show Society welcome entries from farmers in the Grain, Fodder and Farm Produce section.

Maybe you have a favourite sports team, knit or crochet a beanie or scarf in your team’s colours.

Do you enjoy handicrafts, Hand Embroidery, Machine work, Patchwork & Quilting, China Painting or Scrapbooking? Lots of classes to enter!

Love Cooking? Have a favourite Muffin, Slice or Chocolate Cake recipe or try your hand at a Boiled Fruit Cake, the recipe is included in the cookery section.

A new class this year in the cookery section is Class 16- Decorated Christmas Cake- suggest Lions Cake (fondant icing) Max 30cm board (Lions Cakes are available from the show office at cost).

Prize money donated by Esperance Lions Club and EDAS: First: $40 Second: $25 Third: $10.

View the Country Women’s Display as they celebrate 100 years of their contribution and support to Agriculture.

When attending the Show visit the 41 Outdoor Trade Sites and 58 Indoor Trade Sites, Stock and Poultry Pavilions. The Poultry Breeders have activities planned for the children.

Watch the Young Farmers compete in the Young Judges competition and while visiting the Sheep Pavilion view the wool fleeces produced by local farmers.

Jump on the Rotary train, a wonderful way to get around and see many of the outside attractions. Check out the Utes in the Beaut Ute Competition or take a seat ringside and watch the Equestrian Events, as horses and their riders negotiate jumps and courses, enjoy these beautiful animals being judged in the Dressage Sections.

Payment for membership closes on October 14, tickets to be collected from the Show Office open from 9am to 12 noon Wednesdays. The show will take over the 18th and 19th of October.
