Esperance Tennis Academy coach Bastien Henrotin held school holiday clinics at the tennis club this week.

Commencing on Monday, 17 players including three Tiny Tackers Red Ball participants learnt the basics of tennis through skill sessions and various games.

“The three-hour afternoon sessions, with food and drink breaks, for the older children is great for the improvement of their fitness, focus and concentration,” Henrotin said.

The clinic culminates in a pizza lunch and a tournament for all players this afternoon.

Henrotin is looking forward to the start of the 2024-25 Junior Pennants and OZ Tennis seasons commencing on October 26.

“With the good weather starting to come we will see an increase of numbers as during term four we usually see up to four full courts of junior players,” he said.

OZ Tennis, for players aged seven and below, is an hour long skills-based fun session lead by Coach Henrotin which introduces them to the sport.

Junior Pennants is played over three grades for children aged eight to 17 and is fun way to develop skills, and features great match practice.

Meanwhile, the Esperance Tennis Club is hosting a doubles twilight tournament on November 2 starting at 4pm, which will feature Men’s, Ladies and Mixed competitions, with details on the Esperance Tennis Club Facebook page.
