The best up and coming Australian ILCA 7 sailors attended a futures training camp at the Esperance Bay Yacht Club recently.
The week-long training camp was facilitated for the elite Australian ILCA 7 Sailing Futures Training Squad under the command of Luke Elliott, a Laser Standard Junior World Championship silver medalist in 2011.
The purpose of the Futures Training Squad is to develop high potential sailors who are aiming to earn their place within the Australian Sailing Squad ultimately to represent their country at World Championships and Olympics.
It was the first time a futures training camp of this nature has been held in regional Australia, a significant milestone for the EBYC.
