The Heritage Council of WA has given Jennene Riggs and Karli Florisson a judges’ commendation for their Esperance Historic Homesteads documentary series.
“The Esperance Historic Homesteads series was among 55 remarkable projects and organisations shortlisted across the seven categories,” Ms Riggs said.
“Our project was nominated in the Heritage Interpretation category, and was one of ten very high calibre projects to be shortlisted.”
They were recognised at an awards ceremony in Fremantle last Friday, and Ms Riggs issued a statement thanking everyone involved in the project.
So far historian Florisson and film maker Riggs have produced five video documentaries in the series which can be seen for free on YouTube.
They are about to release the sixth episode in the series, featuring Moir’s Homestead at Fanny Cove.
