A blues party invitation for everyone

Esperance residents can “expect the unexpected” in the upcoming gig from blues party band 19-twenty at Lucky Bay Brewing this weekend.

Fingers crossed it will be second time-lucky for the Sydney band, whose Esperance appearance in 2023 couldn’t go ahead after REX cancelled their scheduled flight.

Front man Kane Dennelly said he and his bandmates Jeremy Berg and John Gwilliam were excited to finally bring their “bluesy, rootsy rock” to an Esperance audience.

“Expect the unexpected,” Dennelly said.

“We have fun and everyone else has fun too.”

Dennelly said the band’s “foot-stomping rhythms”, and “raw energy” were something to be enjoyed by all ages and the whole family was welcome at the show.

“We have 80-year-olds in the audience, and their grand-kids,” he said.

Since the band’s formation in 2010, they have shared the stage with big names and performed at over 70 national festivals.

Dennelly said his love of performing comes down to his connection with the audience.

“I really enjoy that,” he said.

“We try and tell stories and don’t take it too seriously.”

Lucky Bay Brewing will host 19-twenty for their Esperance show on February 23 where they will be supported by locals Matty McIntyre & Big Heart Adventure.

Tickets can be purchased for $40 via the Kyza Presents or Lucky Bay Brewing website.
