The Esperance community turned out for the 2025 Annual Electors Meeting at the Civic Centre last week

Fifty-eight community members were in attendance, raising five motions from the floor during Public Question Time, and three questions were asked and responded to.

Of the five motions raised from the floor, the attending community members carried four.

They related to the Council committing to a landscaping plan with capital investment for the Esperance Cemetery.

Community members also asked Council to publicly oppose the South Coast Marine Park and to have an independent investigation into the community consultation process.

The community proposed that Council considered putting ablution facilities similar to Observatory Beach at Eleven Mile Beach, and investigate putting bins at popular beach locations along Twilight Beach Road through to Eleven Mile Beach.

Also proposed was a call for Council to join a section of Keenans Road South to Keenans Road North.

Council will now consider the four supported motions the February Council Meeting on Tuesday.
