A large crowd was assembled at the Esperance Bowling Club on Friday evening to witness the enthralling battle between Richard Major and Michael Colgan for the right to be called the Club’s Men’s Singles Champion for 2025.

Having the advantage of age and experience on his side, Major defied excellent singles play from Colgan to collect the Stewart Medal, winning 22 shots to 18 after nearly two and half hours of play.

The event, marked by Scott Willis, was an even affair as the margin between the players did not extend beyond a couple of shots for the entire match, until Major pulled away in the final ends to reach the coveted 21 point barrier first.

Meanwhile, Condingup 2 on the back of a five-match winning streak have stormed into contention for this season’s SECBL Men’s Pennants title after trouncing Scaddan 2 57-24 on Saturday afternoon.

Led by Jayson Fiegert and Ted Young, Condingup 2 will face Esperance White in tomorrow’s do-or-die semi-final at the Esperance Bowling Club.

The winner of that match will face minor premiers Esperance Gold in the grand final on Sunday afternoon, to be played at the Esperance Bowling Club.
