A Perth-based orthodontist who frequently practiced in Esperance appeared in court earlier this month for allegedly strangling an 11-year-old during a junior soccer game in Perth.Â
Steven James Naoum, 46, was charged with one count of “impeding another person’s breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to the neck” at Abbeville Park, Mindarie on May 25.

Police said the boy did not require medical treatment.
Naoum did not enter a plea when he faced the Joondalup Magistrates Court on June 6.
His case was adjourned until July 25.
