Esperance local Jacob Hill took out the Junior Sedan prize at Sundays’ Scardifields Smash Repairs Thunder In The Valley meet at Ellenbrook Speedway.
“When I go out on the track I feel pretty nervous, and once you get on the green light you pretty much stay focussed from there,” he said.
Hill said the peak experience came a while after crossing the finish line.

“You concentrate on other things,” he said.
“It takes a bit to sink in that you win but pretty much a thrill when you realise it.
“Once you go around the lap with the chequered flag it is probably one of the best feelings anyone can experience, everyone flashing their lights and honking their horns makes you feel proud of yourself.”
Hill said he aimed to continue racing Juniors until the start of the National Titles next year when he hoped to graduate to Street Stocks with a new car.
