It’s lights, camera, action as Esperance prepares for this year’s Hollywood themed Yellow Dot Ball.
Fancy frocks and dazzling suits will be on full show at the Civic Centre on August 9 for the biennial fundraising event hosted by the Esperance Squash Club.
Organising committee member Sam Sanders said the night included dancing, live music and nibbles, with drinks available for purchase.
She said the squash club encouraged people to bring their own platters too.

“People always complain that there’s nothing to do in Esperance so it’s a good chance to get out and about and even meet new people and we have a band coming down for it so it’s good entertainment,” Ms Sanders said.
“It’s a chance to get dressed up and you don’t get a chance to do that very often in Esperance so you can pick your dress, get your makeup done, get your hair done.”

Tickets to the adults only ball cost $80 and can be purchased at the Settlement Hub on Andrew Street.
“It’s a pretty big event like we sell up to 450 tickets,” she said.

“I think we have maybe 10 tables left but there are standing tickets as well so you don’t have to be on a table.
“It goes towards the Esperance Squash Club so to keep the club going and to keep it operational.”
Ms Sanders said they normally had a mix of ages attending.
“It used to be a lot of 30-plus but I feel like throughout the years younger people have come because it’s just something that people can do and it’s an excuse to get dressed up,” she said.
The ball starts at 7pm, with Albany-based band Tre Amici providing the tunes for the night.
