LAURISSA FORBES
It was a fine and mostly sunny day for racing last Sunday for round five of the Esperance Motor Cycle Club’s 2025 season at the Shark Lake track.
The track crew did a fantastic job bringing the track back to tip-top condition after the rain caused some issues at the last round.
Their efforts were appreciated by the riders with many achieving some of their best lap times for the season.
Rider numbers were lower than usual, however 46 junior and senior riders took to the track to participate in the ten different classes of competition offered and all had a great day.

There were some great battles in several classes with riders vying to gain the advantage and some very close racing.
This was appreciated by spectators watching the action and has created some interesting results heading into the end of season championships.
It is also great to see the skill development across all our riders, but particularly in our junior classes.
This round we saw several young riders achieving skills for the first time and racing better than ever which is fantastic to watch.

There are only two rounds left in the 2025 competition season with our next race day on August 17 and the final club round for the season is the Steve Lance Memorial Round scheduled for 14 September.
We are always looking for newcomers so if anyone is interested in riding or assisting at one of our events please get in contact with our President Jason on 0424 185 066 or Secretary Veronica on 0428 761 170.
