Ravensthorpe Shire’s chief executive Matthew Bird has resigned.
He has been in the role for three and a half years and will step down in early January.
Council agreed to start the recruitment process for a new CEO in a confidential agenda item at Tuesday’s ordinary council meeting.

Mr Bird joined the Shire in March 2022 and is leaving to take on a new role in the education sector in Albany, where his family is based.
He said serving the community as Chief Executive Officer had been a great privilege.
“This is a very rewarding role and I am extremely proud of how Shire staff, Council and the community have worked together during my time here,” he said.
“I’ve given as much notice as possible to ensure a smooth transition and handover with my replacement.”
