An Esperance cleaner faced court after she physically assaulted her ex-partner at his home with a child present.
Jamie-Lee Johns was engaged in a verbal argument with the victim when she turned violent.
Police prosecutor Sgt Kate McDowell said Johns kicked the victim, attempted to strike him with a lava lamp and gouged at his face with her hands.

Sgt McDowell told the court once the victim had stepped outside, Johns continued to abuse him by throwing tools off the balcony.
She said he was hit in the back of the head by a screwdriver.
Johns also caused an estimated $5,000-10,000 damage to the victim’s property when she threw an open paint can.

She was also charged with acting in a disorderly manner when she was in police lockup and faced a drug possession charge for carrying methamphetamine in her handbag.

Magistrate William Yoo said Johns’ response was disproportionate and said her conduct was “simply not on”.
He ordered a global fine of $200 and a six-month community order.
