Southern Ports will continue to provide food relief for people facing hardship in WA’s south after it extended its partnership with Foodbank.

Ports minister Stephen Dawson said in 2026 more than 21,000 meals would be delivered to those who need them most in the South West, Great Southern and Goldfields-Esperance regions.

Southern Ports CEO Keith Wilks said the company’s drive went beyond facilitating trade and was about strengthening communities.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in partnership with Foodbank WA and we’re excited to see that continue.”

The trade company has funded 66,000 meals since it began supporting Foodbank and

has committed a further $25,000 to the charity to continue its work in 2026.

The company has also opened its applications for its Community Investment Program which provides grants of up to $5,000 for grassroots community groups.

Applications are open until October 24.
