Esperance Shire is supporting Munglinup famer Max Sculz’s campaign for an overtaking lane on South Coast Highway.
Just two months ago Mr Szulc, who introduced himself as a community activist, spoke at Public Question Time before Esperance Shire Council meeting.
He reminded Councillors of a fatal accident on the stretch of road east of Munglinup and west of Fuss Road.

Mr Szulc said heavily laden trucks travelling east out of Munglinup gradually slowed down as they climbed a steep gradient, eventually reaching speeds of 60km per hour as they reached the peak near Fuss Road.
This created a temptation for drivers to overtake them, despite continuous double white lines in the centre of the two-lane road.
Mr Szulc asked for the Shire to apply for Commonwealth Black Spot funding.
Shire chief executive Shane Burge has since written to Mr Szulc.

“Following our discussion, Shire officers have prepared and submitted a formal nomination for the affected section of South Coast Highway through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts,” he wrote.
“This application has been submitted to the Black Sport Consultative Panel at Main Roads for consideration.”
Munglinup lies just inside the eastern boundary of Ravenshorpe Shire.
Mr Szulc has since been elected unopposed to Ravensthorpe Council and is to be sworn in later this month.
He attended the Esperance Shire Council meeting on Tuesday as a visitor and thanked the Shire for its support.
