The Esperance Cricket Association celebrated Cricket Australia’s women and girls week with the launch of the first female Sunset Scorchers session at the Esperance Cricket Ground last Thursday evening.
Around a dozen players graced the Old Oval under lights playing a social modified game where all participants had an opportunity to show their skills with some impressive cricket on display.

The WA Cricket’s country women’s and girls’ participation officer Alice Fox made the trip to Esperance to see the local females in action and encourages new faces to register for the remainder of the season of social fun on the field.
Keep an eye on the Esperance Cricket Association’s Facebook page for the dates of the next session for women’s and girls over the age of 14.
In addition to the senior program, the girls only Woolworths Cricket Blast commenced last Wednesday at the Esperance Cricket Ground, the free program for girls aged five to ten-years-old running for a further four weeks from 4.30pm.
