Joint Hepburn Medal winners as the 2024 EDFA League fairest and best, Kaine Buckley from Esperance and Patrick Jannings from Gibson are congratulated by Peter Hepburn.
The Esperance District Football Association night of nights, the Hepburn Medal, saw a close count where only three votes separated the top four placegetters on Saturday.
Kaine Buckley picked up his third Hepburn Medal after wins in 2021 and 2022 as Patrick Jannings collected his second medal to complement his 2019 victory.
Buckley joins Esperance Football Club’s Ryan Neill (2001,07,08) as a three-time Hepburn Medalist.
The pair could not be split after 12 rounds on 25 votes, as Jannings’ team mate Aogan McCallion was one vote away in third place and Tim Bockman from Ports a further two votes behind.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of EDFA Life Membership to current President Stuart Tholstrup.
