Member for ROE Peter Rundle

It gives me great pleasure to continue my sponsorship with the Esperance and Districts Agricultural Society in presenting the upcoming 72nd Show. As your Member for Roe, I am incredibly proud to be a sponsor of this fantastic event.

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Show Committee for their dedication and hard work in bringing together yet another well-run community event. This show is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of our region, and it is always a delight to see families coming together to enjoy the festivities.

Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and events like this highlight the importance of supporting and celebrating our local farmers and producers. The Esperance Show is not just an event; it is a celebration of our community spirit and resilience.

I invite all of you to visit me in the pavilion (site D5). Whether you have issues you would like to discuss or simply want to say hello, I am here to listen and engage with you. Your feedback and concerns are vital in helping me represent you better.

Enjoy the show, and thank you for being part of this wonderful community event.

Like many locals, the Esperance Show holds a special place in my heart.

I have vivid memories of attending with my children when they were young, perusing the arts and crafts, cheering on the shearers, and helping the kids decide which showbags to buy with their hard-earned pocket money.

The Esperance Show embodies the essence of our vibrant community and at no other event is our town’s diversity so visible.

Above the excitement of Sideshow Alley, the colourful school displays, and the delicious food, my favourite part of the annual event is the opportunity to celebrate the hard work, innovation, and resilience of our local agricultural industry.

From the prized livestock to the machinery on display, I see the heart and soul that goes into sustaining a rural way of life.

I have been sharing my vision for our region’s agricultural future with my colleagues and continue to stress the importance of government support for regional development, increased funding for agricultural research, and the need to ensure our farmers have the tools and resources they require to thrive in an ever-changing world.

I am proud to be a sponsor of the Esperance Show and look forward to meeting as many people as possible over the two days.

Please pop by my stall in the Indoor Sports Stadium, say hello, and let me know how I can help you – together we can work towards a brighter future for Esperance to ensure that the spirit of our community continues to flourish.

CBH Chair Simon Stead

THIS year marks the 72nd anniversary of the Esperance and Districts Agricultural Show.

The show continues to bring the community together and literally showcase everything that is happening.

From agricultural produce and animals, individuals, young and old, and schools to show off their hobbies and passions.

The trade exhibitors get to display the latest and greatest and engage with new and familiar faces.

There is sideshow alley for those not ringside competing or viewing the equestrian events, parades, sheep dog comps or fireworks.

Once again the 72nd show will be a great opportunity for all to enjoy catching up and seeing a bit of what Esperance and districts has to offer.

Shire President Ron Chambers

For 72 years, the Esperance Show has been the highlight of our region’s calendar. It celebrates everything special about our community, showcasing beaut utes, crafts, and the finest poultry and livestock, while bringing exciting rides, showbags, and delicious food to town.

This event reminds us of what truly matters – community. The Show is crucial to the fabric of Esperance, allowing town residents to learn about the origins of their food, explore the machinery used in agriculture, and get an idea of all the work that goes into getting food from the paddock to the plate. For our farmers, it’s a final catch-up before harvest begins.

Agriculture, including forestry and fishing, is a major contributor to the local economy, employing 17.9 per cent of the Shire’s population and attracting seasonal workers to our region, who often travel on as tourists. The agricultural industry adds an annual $782 million to our local economy and contributes to the $8 billion state agriculture industry. The Esperance Show also highlights the importance of volunteering. The dedication, vision, and resilience of the Esperance & Districts Agricultural Society are commendable. Thank you for the months of planning and hard work you invest in this event every year – because of your efforts, we have a weekend to cast our worries aside and enjoy a genuine community event.
