Our story
As the world grappled with Covid-19 in 2020, longstanding newspaperThe Esperance Express published its final edition.
For more than a year, Esperance was left without a paper to share local news, stories and successes.
Sensing a void in the regional community, six locals banded together to reinstate that aspect of town identity.
In 2021, the Esperance Weekender was born.
Our purpose
To engage the local community.
To support local business.
To provide a clear and useful description of public officials’ activities and intentions to help voters make informed decisions.
