Hopey Swim is gearing up for its annual events, the Morwong Mile Swim and the Hopetoun IGA Big Summer Splash which are both part of the Hopetoun Progress Association summer festival on Saturday.
Morwong Mile Swim is described as a scenic one-mile swim across the bay to Flathead Point.
“Last year’s event kicked off with a warm-up, followed by an ocean swim in calm, clear waters, where swimmers had the chance to spot some of the bay’s most beloved marine life, including the friendly Morwongs,” an organiser said.
“The course was a dream for ocean swimmers.”

She described Hopetoun IGA Big Summer Splash as a “floating fiesta” of fun.
“Last year, an incredible crowd of participants with inflatables of all shapes and sizes launched off the jetty, creating a lively parade of smiles as they made their way into the bay,” she said.
“It’s an event perfect for families and all ages, bringing the community together in a truly spectacular way.”
