An emerging Newtown-Condingup footy talent was selected for the U15s All Australian Team after a stand-out performance at the School Sports Australia Games.

Beatrice Crane, 15, represented WA in the backline in Moreton Bay from July 26 – August 2.

Crane was one of the only regional players to represent WA at Nationals and played in four matches against the top U15 girls from around the country.

Newtown-Condingup Club president Naomi White said it was an amazing achievement for Crane to make the All Australian Team.

“She’s a pretty talented young girl so it doesn’t really surprise us to be fair, but it’s awesome and a great opportunity for her,” Ms White said.

Crane is a loyal Lions midfielder, having played for the club throughout her footy career.

Ms White said Crane’s prowess would “absolutely” inspire other young girls in Esperance who were emerging through the ranks.

Ms White said this year Crane had helped the Newtown-Condingup women’s team secure a strong position on the table.

They are actually sitting second at the minute so they’re achieving and improving every week and they’re enjoying it, it’s just brilliant.

“We started with only 13 players a couple of days before our first game but we recruited a heap of young girls and Bea was part of that.

“We’ll be really excited to have [Crane] back going into finals.”
