A black Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen from a West Beach home at around 10pm on October 18.
“Someone’s gone into the house and taken some keys and sometime a bit later has gone back and taken the car,” Esperance Senior sergeant Chris Taylor said.
Sergeant Taylor said he believed the owners of the car were at the back of house at the time, away from where they had left the keys.
He said the vehicle and perpetrator had not been found yet.
He advised the community to lock doors even if someone was at home.
“Ensure that doors to houses are locked and keep your keys in an area where people might not be able to find them easily so off your kitchen bench, dining table – easy places to walk past and find and take,” he said.
