Esperance a dream destination

“This is absolutely stunning, Nikki” my dad, John, repeatedly told me as I showed him around Esperance for first time last month.

The crystal-clear ocean and soft sand glistened in the winter sun as we drove the great ocean drive, beach hopping and checking out the not-so-pink lake which he still found “beautiful”.

We watched the sunrise over the jetty, zoomed along the Baarndi trail on e-scooters, drank hot choccys at local cafés with his all-time favourite paper (the Esperance Weekender) and spent our evenings taste-testing brews and yummy food at the local pubs and restaurants.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Esperance without checking out Cape Le Grand — the weather was gloomy but my dad was still adamant it had some of best beaches he’d ever seen.

He has since returned home to Canberra but last week he rang me and said he enjoyed it so much, he was thinking about a second Esperance trip at the end of the year.
