A rising Esperance netballer has been selected in Netball WA’s Fever in Time Program after being identified for her booming potential at representative competitions earlier this year.
Maddelyn Sinagra, 14, has represented the Esperance Netball Association this season at both the Association Member Championships in June and the Great Southern Regional Championships held in Albany last month.
Sinagra was also selected for the 2024 and 2025 Great Southern Development Academies and was the runner-up Fairest and Best player in last season’s Junior 1 competition at the age of 13, playing primarily against older opponents.

Esperance Netball Association TDS coaches Kalira and Taya Docherty said Sinagra’s
selection in the Fever in Time program was testament to her outstanding work ethic and the tireless efforts invested into talent development by the Association.
“She is an integral part of our TDS team playing in the A3 competition,” they said.
“Maddi is a hardworking and dedicated athlete who is constantly improving.”

The coaches said as Goal Defence, Sinagra was a force to be reckoned with.
“She reads the play brilliantly, taking strong intercepts, and shutting down her opponents,” they said.
“Her maturity and game sense are well beyond her years, and she plays with such skill and confidence.
“It’s exciting for the Esperance Netball Association, as there is so much amazing talent that gets constantly overlooked regularly by Netball WA, being so isolated.

“It also shows that our development programs here in Esperance are on par with the metro associations, meaning there are bright futures ahead for these emerging athletes.
“We hope that Maddi’s selection inspires other athletes to follow in her footsteps and go after these opportunities.”
The purpose of the Fever in Time Program is to select participants from 14 to 16 years of age, coaches and umpires who demonstrate the potential and aspiration to progress on the Netball WA Performance pathway, ultimately towards selection in the state under 17’s squad.
