Esperance Primary School has been nominated as a state finalist in the WA education awards “Excellence in Early Childhood Education” category.
Deputy principal Fabianne Lance said it was a “proud and affirming moment” for the regional school.
“It demonstrates that educational excellence is not determined by location, but by the shared commitment of passionate leaders, skilled and forward thinking educators, engaged families, and a supportive community,” Ms Lance said.

“We are proud to deliver high quality education to our students, regardless of our geographical isolation, and to show that regional schools are achieving exceptional outcomes for all learners.
“Regardless of the final outcome, we are honoured to receive this acknowledgment at a departmental level and proud to represent the strength of regional education.”
Ms Lance said the school’s teaching practices had evolved, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

“We’ve seen sustained growth in student outcomes demonstrating the impact of our continued focus on excellence in education,” she said.
“This prestigious acknowledgment affirms the outstanding work taking place across our school, particularly in our early years, and highlights the dedication, expertise, and passion of our teachers and education assistants.”
