Esperance Sea Dragons make a splash in spectacular swim weekend

ESPERANCE SEA DRAGONS

The Esperance Sea Dragons wrapped up their season with a weekend of water-based excitement, skill-building, and community spirit that left swimmers and spectators beaming.

The festivities kicked off Friday evening with the Championship Pennants, where Sea Dragons of all ages showcased their speed, stamina, and sportsmanship.

The energy was electric as swimmers raced for personal bests, cheered on by a crowd of proud families and team mates.

Congratulations to all the medal winners of the night. Hours in the pool over the past year have seen an improvement in skills and technique for all our swimmers.

Saturday brought a special treat: Aquafanatics coaches Chris and Camille travelled from Perth to deliver personalised 1:1 sessions with young swimmers.

Their expert guidance and infectious enthusiasm made a lasting impression, helping children refine their strokes and build confidence in the water.

Adults weren’t left out—Saturday also featured a synchronised swimming session, which blended grace, laughter, and teamwork.

Whether seasoned swimmers or curious first-timers, participants dove into the challenge with flair.

Sunday’s highlight was a five-hour workshop led by Aquafanatics, open to both the Sea Dragons swim club members and the wider Esperance community.

A total of 25 swimmers took part, honing their technique, building endurance, and learning new drills in a supportive, high-energy environment.

The Sea Dragons extend heartfelt thanks to Aquafanatics for making the journey to Esperance, and to the Esperance Shire for their generous backing through the Community Grants Program.

Gratitude also goes to the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre for hosting the event, and to the coaches and all the families who volunteered or supported, working together to make the weekend unforgettable for our swimmers.

As the Sea Dragons look ahead to the next season, it’s the perfect time to dive in – swim club offers skills in the pool as well as self-discipline, resilience, and a fresh start that helps set up kids and teenagers for success in school and beyond.

With the new season beginning in October, we encourage families to sign up, with the first few sessions offered as a free trial to see if the club is the right fit for you and your family.

If this weekend was any indication, the coming season promises to be bigger, bolder, and better than ever.
