The midweek 14-17 Stephen Bell knockout cup winners, Atletico had already wrapped up the double for the 2025 season before facing the Glory for the last match of the season.

The Glory side gave the league champions a guard of honour before the match, but that was where the friendliness ended as the Glory took a four goal to nil lead at the halftime break.

Atletico responded with two quick goals at the restart in hopes of clawing back a draw, but the Glory’s Spence Pokela scored with a shot on goal that went past the Atletico keeper who mistimed the clearing kick to end the match.

The Esperance Soccer Association will hold its wind up day for the season this Sunday featuring an appearance from Football West’s John Karavitis.

Karavitis will be on hand to award this season’s Players of the Year and other Association awards in the various grades.

The day will finish with the annual Young Guns v Legends friendly game which is sure to be played in great spirit.
