Salmon Gums residents past and present celebrated their town’s 100th anniversary on Saturday.

Organiser Sam Starcevich said everyone had a really good time.

“It was a fantastic day and one for the memory book,” she said.

“We were blown away by how many people attended — so many people catching up who hadn’t seen each other for years.”

It was on for young and old with plenty of fun activities including the boot toss, decorated bikes, hay bale roll, cropping competition, CWA Cooking competition and a dinner for 200.

A special fundraising centenary gin was for sale, along with a variety of food vendors and market stalls.

Mrs Starcevich said more than 500 people came on the day.

She was keen to acknowledge fellow organising committee members  Mary Bidstrup, Tim Bailye, Gaile Starcevich and Farrin Parker.

“A huge thank you to everyone that support it, everyone that travelled from near and far and to the committee and all our sponsors,” she said.
