An extremely wet Harris Dental side with coach Ed Warren didn’t let the constant downpours of rain dampen the celebrations after winning the Esperance Hockey Association’s Under 13s grand final on Saturday morning. Photo: Ed Warren.
Particularly wet weather couldn’t keep the hardy parents, grandparents and interested onlookers away from lining the sidelines at last Saturday morning’s Esperance Hockey Association’s Under 13s grand final.
The grand final was a tightly fought contest with Harris Dental scoring first through Heindrik Labuscagne but they had their work cut out for them in keeping out Esperance Communications, who responded with a goal to Ilsa Massenbauer.

The match was headed for a dreaded shootout when Lacey Gairen stepped up in the last quarter for Harris Dental to slot the match winner as she was mobbed by jubilant teammates.
Umpired expertly by Mark Darlow and Tash McCarthy, they awarded the best player on the ground award to Mikaylah Stephen from the Harris Dental team.
The Esperance Hockey Association junior season concludes tomorrow morning with the Under 17s grand final between Esperance Communications and Learning Pathways Australia at 10.40am.
