With temperatures reaching a muggy 25 degrees on Sunday, a larger-than-usual crowd flocked to the Esperance sound shell to enjoy the local Lions club’s Carols by Candlelight at sunset.
The Esperance Brass Band and an expanded Esperance Community Singers provided the music as MC Tory Castledine once again introduced each set and encouraged the family audience to sing along.
Curtis Mayfield delivered a couple of solos for the children before Father Paul Szczur gave them a Christmas message.
Shire president Ron Chambers then offered his own Christmas message before Esperance Lions president Neil Husbands said he was extremely pleased at the turnout and thanked all of the sponsors.
