The alleged Esperance fraudster who characterised her family as victims of cancer has had her court sentencing date adjourned after admitting herself into hospital.
Sarah Jayne Kelly, 29, was due for sentencing on April 24 on charges of reckless conduct that may have caused suffering to a child in her care and non-appearance in court.
Kelly is in custody at the Melaleuca Women’s Prison in Perth where she will remain until her new sentencing date on May 22.
It is the second time Kelly has not appeared in court for sentencing this year, after she fled Esperance with her family in February, just days before she was due in court.

Kelly lived in Esperance for two years with her husband Jacob Kelly, 30, and their four children.
Police said Kelly falsely portrayed herself and her children as victims of cancer, eating disorders, and other illnesses, to acquire charity from people in town.
Police said she even went to the lengths of getting a feeding tube inserted in her child’s mouth, which medical staff removed a year later at the Perth Children’s Hospital as “nothing was wrong”.
Kelly was extradited from NSW to Perth in early April and was refused bail in the Perth District Court on April 7.
