The Esperance Golf Club Ladies conducted their opening day on March 5 with a three person Ambrose sponsored by Di Rawlinson.
The course is still looking good, and the greens were in great shape considering the lack of rain over the dry summer period.
One of the club’s senior ladies, Jackie Martin, had the honors hitting the first ball off the number one tee box to start the season and it was a great drive right down the middle of the fairway.
Martin and her team including Bec Rawlinson and Marg Blades continued their good form all day, recording 76/61 5/8 to win from Nok Burge, Lorna Thorpe and Bev Hodges with 78/63 ½.
Meanwhile, the Esperance Golf Club is providing coaching sessions catering for ladies and juniors in the coming weeks.
The Esperance Golf Club is currently running a ladies beginner program on Sunday mornings at 10-11am, and junior clinics with registered community Instructors from 9-10am on Sundays. This is a great opportunity to learn golf in a fun group environment.
The Golf WA Regional Roadshow “have a go” sessions will be run by Kalgoorlie PGA Professional Jemma Price over the weekend of April 5 and 6 at 8am-9am. These sessions for boys and girls are a great introduction for children six years old and above who have never played golf before, or are just starting out.
The Horizon Power introduction into golf coaching program with the PGA Professional will also be held on Saturday April 5. This is an extension from the club’s free Friday and Sunday six-hole programs.
More information with updates is available on the Esperance Golf Club’s Facebook page.
