Mallee 1 and United 1 are proving the teams to beat at the top of the Esperance Netball.
Association’s A1 ladder, despite a 17-goal win to Mallee 1 against United 1 in round 12 action on Friday night.
The game was won by Mallee 1 from the defensive circle, with Eliza Vlasich and Holly Meiklejohn outstanding in blocking and intercepting United 1’s attacking moves, restricting Kodey Major and Rani Hotker to only 36 goals.

At the other end of the court Abbey Wilson (31 goals) and Sarah McMahon (22 goals) feasted on United 1’s turnovers and their teams fast ball movement through the middle.
Both teams will meet each other in the final round which will decide the divisions minor premiership on Thursday August 28.
Meanwhile, Newtown 1 snuck ahead of Gibson 1 in the standings, the Demons defeating the Tigers by three goals 56-53 in round 12’s earlier match.
Gibson 1 held the lead at quarter time 14-13, but Newtown 1 responded stretching the margin out to six goals several times in the third quarter.

Scoring five goals either side of the final break, Gibson 1 reduced the margin to a goal, but Newtown 1 steadied through Mia Moeauri (34 goals) and Molly Mackenzie (22 goals), to record its third win of the season.
Dannii Newton (36 goals) was the focal point of the Tigers attack, joined by Kalira Docherty (17 goals).

The 2025 netball season is rapidly reaching the finals stage with the Junior grand finals set for Saturday September 13 and the Senior grand finals scheduled for Saturday September 20.
