A young Esperance man was charged $660.50 in the Esperance Magistrates court on Tuesday for attempting to dupe Dempster St McDonalds.
Izak-Boyd Offer, 25, ordered $52.95 worth of McDonalds from the drive through just before 5pm on October 3.
He tried to pay with two counterfeit $50 notes which staff refused to accept.

Offer was charged with attempting to benefit by fraud and represented himself in court.
He said it was a mistake, encouraged by peer pressure.
Magistrate Lyons said as a 25-year-old man, he should be able to make better decisions.
āItās going to be an expensive Maccas meal,ā he said.
