As kids start heading back to school for 2025, Esperance residents are reminded of the new 40km/h speed limit signage installed on Harbour Road, Esperance.
A Government spokesperson said the 40km/h speed aligns with existing school zone periods, from 7.30am to 9am and 2.30pm to 4pm during school terms.

The signs were installed last year as part of a government initiative to improve safety at warden-controlled school crossings across the State.
Shelley Payne MLC said the speed limits would be in operation from February 5 and urged drivers to obey the new speed limits and keep school kids safe.
“We all know how busy Harbour Road can be during peak school periods, which is why I welcome the introduction of a 40km/h speed limit on either side of the warden-controlled school crossing,” she said.
“The new speed limit, in addition to Greg, our hard-working Harbour Road crossing warden, will keep our local students safe when walking, riding, and wheeling to and from school.”
