Cruise ship passengers disembarking the tender.
Last week, luxury cruise ship Le Jacques Cartier graced the waters of Esperance Bay.
Roughly 100 passengers were ferried from the ship to Taylor Street Jetty where they swapped their sea legs for land legs and embarked on an onshore adventure of Esperance.
Tour Coordinator from Esperance farm Experience Renea Poot said she hoped the glimpse of Esperance’s local offerings would entice the passengers to book a longer stay.
She said tour highlights included contributions from Dabungool Cultural Tours, Kyza Presents, Esperance Stonehenge, Yirri Grove, Lucky Bay Brewery, New Moon Coffee, Esperance Distillery, and the Cannery Arts Centre.
The tour began just after the passengers arrived at around 1pm on Friday December 13. They were delivered back on board and the cruise ship was set to depart by 6pm the same day.
Esperance is due to expect five more cruise ship visits before mid 2025 and a spokesperson from Australian Golden Outback said these would deliver approximately 3,000 visitors to Esperance shores.
