Esperance-Goldfields Surf Lifesaving Club will once again be able to hire out its Twilight Beach club rooms for private functions.
The club, which leases its premises from Esperance Shire, asked Council to remove two clauses from its occupancy permit, which Council staff said indicated that the building should be used for club purposes only.
“No public events should be held and no gatherings of any kind should occur on the balcony,” the report to Council document says.
Councillors Sam Starcevich and Wes Graham moved to remove these restrictions before the motion passed 5-0.
“They haven’t had gatherings on their balcony for a long time so it should be a very good party,” Cr Graham said.
