Planned construction at the Taylor Street Jetty will not affect cruise ships arriving in Esperance this season, according to a Southern Ports spokesperson.
Ships will anchor offshore and transport passengers by tender to nearby pontoons, starting with the arrival of Silver Nova on November 18.
Southern Ports chief executive Keith Wilks said the new Southern Ports Jetty was still in the planning stage.

“Southern Ports is working through detailed design options for a new small boating facility and tug pens,” he said.
The existing jetty is set to be replaced by a 70-metre pontoon, with 50-metres reserved for the Ports service boats and 20-metres allocated for public use.
The $5-million small boat facility is expected to be complete in 2026-27.
