A Sinclair woman has paid a hefty price for a pair of thongs after she stole them from an Esperance supermarket.
The 51-year-old was fined $100 for nicking the pair of thongs worth $21 from the Pink Lake IGA in the early hours of April 27.
While addressing the women in court, Magistrate Lyons said, “it makes a pretty expensive pair of thongs if you think about it.”
The prosecuting officer said she ripped the tag off the thongs with no attempt to pay before leaving the store.
Police stopped her with the thongs already on her feet so she was unable to give them back. At the end of the hearing the culprit said, “I won’t be doing that again.”
